About the work

A series of ten short pieces, each about 1 minute long, which portray a series of atmosphere/emotions that may be experienced by an average person during the course of an average day. The titles are: Sunrise, Gathering, Assembling, Building, Desolate, Disbelief, Relentless, Melancholy, Sunset, Chimes.

First Performance: Bingham String Quartet, CoMA Summer School 1996

Technical notes

Not really a good piece for amateurs – would probably prove too difficult to keep ensemble together and to balance with horn.
