This piece attempts to represent the conflict between the mechanistic and process orientation of high modernism as against the intuitive and spiritual (as expressed through a plain chant). The resolution is achieved by a nihilistic realisation of the destruction of both by the triumph of consumer capitalism and its remorseless marketing of fake spirituality and rejection of high art.
