About the work

Estampie refers to the name of a popular, instrumental dance which was enjoyed throughout the courts of 11th and 12 century mediaeval Europe.  The principal theme of this estampie is taken from an anonymous source but was probably composed and performed by Troubadours plying their trade across 11 centre France.  The harmonisation of the principal theme at the outset is my own work.  Real is French for true, original or genuine.

Estampe Real is intended for children and amateur musicians with equivalent musicianship of ABRSM grade 5 – 6.
