About the work

I find when I’m daydreaming that a small trivial reverie sometimes blossoms into an ornate fantasy. This elaboration tends to happen in stages – the overall progress being interrupted by brief returns to the real world. Daydreams are somehow timeless, and yet I don’t think it matters that here each of these four musical representations of day-dreaming is a minute long.

Technical notes

The four movements progress from extremely quiet to very loud. The involve effects such as tapping instruments, and holding long overlapping chords.
