About the work
The four texts set are:
1. She said, by The Monk Sosei, 9th century;
2. The cricket cries, by the Regent Fujiwara, 12th century; 3. When, by the Emperor Koko, 9th century;
4. In the dusk, by Izumi Shikibu, 10th century
The poems are set for two separate treble groups of voices, one tenor group, and a bass and/or baritone group.
