Technical notes

“x” noteheads should be pitched, but exact pitches are not specified. Simply play scales of any kind in a comfortable register, adhering to the exact contour and rhythm indicated. These should not be on unison pitches, and each player should paly something different. String players may use quarter tones. Double stops and chords can be included.

Percussion may be used, ad lib. Unpitched percussion should only be used in passages with “x” noteheads.
