About the work

This piece was inspired by a busker that I passed, going through Canary Wharf tube station, on my daily commute to Trinity College of Music. He was playing ‘Sweet Child of Mine’ on the guitar. Badly. But I gave him 20p for his efforts, purely for a placard which read ‘Remember to smile’. I had read in the newspaper that day about a football match, during which a flare had been thrown at a goalkeeper. This spiteful world needs some more happy people…! AB
