Technical notes
The ensemble performing the piece may be of any instrumentation but the conductor should ensure there is a balance between the parts as much as possible. All four parts need to be covered. The musicians should be arranged in the shape of a string quartet or semi-circle with bass on one side round to soprano on the other. Where a part has a solo passage this may be played by the whole section or an individual soloist, at the discretion of the conductor and the ensemble.
