Parade Fanfare
Chatburn, Katie
About the work
Parade Fanfare explores traditional elements of fanfare such as simple use of the perfect fifth and creates a bi-tonal and homophonic texture where each line is of equal importance. It toys with the manner in which a repeating fanfare may move in and out of focus during a parade owing to the competing sources of sound, the disparate bands, and their relative proximity to the listener.
First performed by CoMA Bristol on 25th October 2014 as one of the 21 fanfares for CoMA’s 21st birthday celebration.
