About the work

The piece is in two sharply contrasted sections. The first represents people going their own way, ending in conflict (starting with cymbal entry at bar 22). This gives way to a calm section where the conflict dissolves and peace reigns.

Technical notes

The piece is for 4 part orchestra plus keyboard and percussion. The four parts can be played on: Part 1 – Vln, Fl, Cl ; Part 2 – Vln, Cl, AltSax; Part 3 – Vla, TenSax; Part 4 – Vlc, Bsn . The keyboard should be General MIDI compatible. Percussion – SusCym, Maraca s. Ensemble could be helped by means of a conductor. Main time signature in first section is 4/4+5/4. Wide leaps in parts 1-4. Influence of minimal techniques.
