About the work

Apart from its usual meaning, ‘serene’, the French word ‘serein’ also refers to precipitation that sometimes falls suddenly and unexpectedly from a clear blue sky, like evening dew.

Technical notes

The solo part is intended for an advanced pianist and a grand piano. The disposition of notes on the staves is not intended to dictate their distribution between the hands.
