About the work
The work consists in ten versions of a song for voice of any kind, on the text of William Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18 “Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?” and one hundred short pieces for string instruments, like violin, cello and similar. The song versions and instrumental pieces can be performed in any order or combination with one to four voices and two to four string instruments. If there are three or four voices, the instruments may be omitted. Scores for instrument parts start at page 33. The musicians play without a common time. Intonation need not be agreed upon. Duration is free.
