Wind Quartet No 2 – Fragments
Moss, Pat
About the work
This one movement work for wind quartet was written in 1984. Several members of the City Lit composition class wrote a piece for the occasion of the retirement of the Head of the Institute. “Fragments” depicts many different factions of a mature human’s character. The piece incorporates fragments of lines which are tossed between parts, altered and linked. Performed by the London Chamber Group in 1998
Technical notes
Ensemble difficulties. Nothing too strenuous, or extended, or fast. Lyrical, somewhat like Paul Patterson’s work.
