On Saturday 5 May, as part of the Festival of Contemporary Music for All, CoMA Bristol is holding an all-day workshop and evening performance of Nigel Osborne’s moving new work I Am Swimming. For more information please see our festival pages.
CoMA Bristol is a lively group of musicians committed to performing music from the cutting edge. It includes players from a range of musical backgrounds and experience, who share a curiosity for the fuzzy edges and uncharted territory of new music. Mozart this definitely isn’t!
We are always on the look-out for new players. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment for those new to contemporary music, while offering scope for more experienced musicians to shine.
Our programming is ambitious, and usually takes in three concerts a year. We have collaborated with early music ensembles, with guest soloists from the Bristol Ensemble, and we regularly work with postgraduate composition students from Bristol University.
If we sound like the ensemble for you then please do get in touch!
WHEN? We rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings, 7.15-9.15pm.
WHERE? We are fortunate to be affiliated with Bristol University’s music department. This means we rehearse in the impressive and well-equipped Victoria Rooms, right in the heart of Bristol (Queen’s Rd, Bristol, BS8 1SA).
COST? A standing order of £15.00 (concessions £7.50) per month.
NB: As well as a subscription to CoMA Bristol, ensemble members are required to be Friends of CoMA nationally (an additional minimum £3 per month standing order).
