Become a Friend

Our membership currently provides CoMA’s only source of regular funding. Through our Friends scheme and the Gift Aid received from CoMA ensemble members’ fees, we are able to continue to provide opportunities for musicians of all ages and abilities to participate in contemporary music, develop our training and support programme for emerging composers, extend our international links and run our flagship international music summer school.

As such membership of the Friends scheme underpins our very existence and we make it a requirement for all those in a CoMA ensemble. However, membership is also open to anyone who supports our aims  – whether they be members of our audiences, past participants of CoMA courses and ensembles, composers featured in the CoMA catalogue, music organisations or professional musicians.

Our commissioning programme

We commission at least five works a year from both established and talented emerging composers. This programme, so vital the success of our mission, has resulted in a unique and much valued collection of more than 1200 contemporary works suitable for a wide range of ensembles and abilities. These works are regularly used by music colleges and conservatoires, and performed by youth, amateur and professional ensembles in major international festivals such as Bath, the Huddersfield contemporary and Sounds New.

Please contact if you are interested in supporting our commissioning programme.
