Purchase of music
The sale of downloadable material via www.coma.org is intended to facilitate the rehearsal and performance of repertoire from the CoMA Open Score collection by individual ensembles. Composers have a right to be paid for their music, and CoMA also requires funds to be able to keep commissioning composers. The following describes the rights conveyed by individual purchased downloads.
The copyright of the music belongs to the composer or composer’s representative. No rights are conveyed to the purchaser other than those explicitly detailed here.
The score and parts purchased for download from CoMA to the purchaser’s computer for the purchaser’s own use only with a single ensemble.
Parts may be printed as many times as necessary for the use of the purchaser’s ensemble only. Parts may not be printed or copied for use by more than one ensemble.
1.5 The score and parts may not be transferred to or stored on another computer.
Copies of the score and parts may not be re-sold, loaned or redistributed to any other party for any other purposes, other than those described here.
No alteration or editing of the music is permitted.
The score and parts may be used in performance subject to a performing rights licence being obtained, either directly from the composer or from the Performing Rights Society.
CoMA reserves the right to change the rights granted in these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Price information displayed on www.coma.org is subject to change without prior notice.
All purchases from www.coma.org are subject to English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
