A Showcase Concert in which the Nonesuch Orchestra will perform the compositions by local secondary school students which were rehearsed at the morning workshop. The concert will start promptly at 2.10pm so the audience is requested to arrive ready to take their seats at 2.00pm. The students’ works will be filmed and recorded so audience members are asked to be as quiet as possible during the concert. At the end of the concert the Nonesuch Orchestra will play Dorothy Howell’s Two Pieces for Muted Strings, composed in 1926 and probably last performed in 1959, and Sally Beamish The Day Dawn composed for CoMA in 1997.
Prices are: Adults: £5, University & Music College Students & Unwaged £3, Secondary School Students £2
Tickets are available here
There is also a combined priced for both Workshop and Concert of £5 for secondary school students. If schools wish to benefit from this they need to email nonesuchorch@gmail.com
The Orchestra is grateful to the Ambache Charitable Trust – “raising the profile of music by women” – for the funding to prepare Two Pieces for Muted Strings.
