Interested in finding out more about field recordings, and having a go at making your own? Join us for an afternoon crash course with sound artist and practitioner Jo Kennedy!
This workshop will involve a mix of practical work out and about in Huddersfield with recording devices and a range of microphones, combined with some theory and technical information aimed at ensuring you can make high quality audio recordings. We’ll also have a listening session to review our recording attempts ‘in-the field’! All equipment will be provided.
Working across audio and environmentalism, Jo Kennedy is interested in projects that connect people with nature and their local environment. She is a co-director at Yorkshire Sound Women Network.
This workshop is part of The Current Climate, a series of events centred around culture and the environment being launched by hcmf// in 2022. More details to be announced soon.
This workshop is limited to 10 participants. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
To book a place on the workshop, please email our Learning & Participation Officer, Sophie Cooper, at s.cooper@hud.ac.uk.
