Join us outside for something a bit different! You are invited to experience the premiere of an intriguing, moving new work by Hannah Kendall, a sound installation using harmonicas (mouth organs) to create a ‘communal sonic reflection’ on the loss of lives in Guyana’s sugar and coffee plantations. Almost as an ‘amen’, the session will end with a noisy, beautiful ‘lux aeterna’. Performed by the CoMA Singers, the vocal ensemble of CoMA, led by Janet Oates.
There is an opportunity to join us on the day as participants in this performance: please contact Janet in advance of the day and she will send you the scores and instructions. You will need your own harmonica in either A, B or C, and you will need to be able to read music. Active participants will be asked to meet at 15.00 for a briefing.
Free, no tickets required.
