Vocal workshop

Composer-conductors Robert Fokkens and Nathan Dearden lead workshop sessions for singers of all abilities, featuring sessions on CoMA’s part-songs and other repertoire for amateur and mixed-ability choirs.

All participants are invited to take part in a workshop-rehearsal of a range of contemporary music for voices suitable for all ages and abilities – no singing or other musical training required. Led by Dr Robert Fokkens (Cardiff University Contemporary Music Group) and Nathan Dearden (Royal Holloway), with music by Guto Puw, Judith Weir, Max Charles Davies and a selection of part-songs from CoMA’s new Part Song book. Cardiff New Music Collective also introduce John White’s Drinking and Hooting Machine. Participants will perform in the evening concert.

Workshops will run 10:00-13:00 and 16:30-17:00.
