Calling music-makers in and around Bristol! Would you like to create and play adventurous new music?
CoMA has launched the latest opportunity in our mysounds scheme for musicians aged 18-25 who would like to develop composing skills, write a new piece and see it performed.
Apply to become a mysounds musician in residence and you’ll have the chance to be part of CoMA Bristol ensemble this autumn, rehearsing with the group and creating new music for them. You’ll be supported with workshops and mentoring from professional composers and musicians, including Blasio Kavuma and Zoë Martlew.
It’s free to take part and there’s help with travel costs – the scheme is particularly aimed at musicians facing financial barriers to accessing creative opportunities.
You’ll need some experience with playing an instrument (to any level) so you can join in with rehearsal sessions, but you don’t need to have studied music at school or uni – your application just needs to say how you think you’ll benefit from the opportunity.
Find out more and apply by 7 August here: mysounds + CoMA Bristol
PS If you’re too old to apply, CoMA Bristol would still like to hear from you, as new members are always welcome.
