About the work

This piece is composed for performance over online video call. It is designed to work within the restrictions of this format, making latency issues a feature of the music, and the prioritising of certain voices a curation, showing some part of the bigger picture of the piece. In an ideal world, this would be performed with minimal impact from software, with minimal impact of the software on audio quality itself (for example, on Zoom with original audio on and ‘automatically adjust microphone settings’ deselected).

This piece is for any number of performers. One of the performers leads the ensemble negating the need for a separate conductor.
