Pace explores the natural human world. It could be argued that we are pattern-recognizing creatures. Even if there’s not a pattern we want to find one. Therefore as a species we seem to want to create meaning. This piece has an element of ambiguity, which I hope allows this natural psychological effect of meaning making to occur. The piece is named because of the two different beats or meters that run parallel in the first section. The piece develops to encompass the ambiguity that occurs which culminates in the final section.
