From the composer:

“Sounds of the Day is a poem that I studied when I was in secondary school, and one that I felt a deep connection with when analysing and studying it. I could hear music to the words in my head and see colours and shapes whilst reading it, but I struggled to convey this in a way with standard notation. I then decided to venture into graphic scores, and hoped I could develop the ideas I had in my head onto paper and then to the musicians performing it. An important aspect of music-making to me is accessibility, not just in abilities but for instruments, and I feel that writing this in an open score format was an ideal way to develop that.”
