Wade’s Causeway

Clare, Antony

About the work

The title refers to an ancient road on the Yorkshire Moors whose remains can still be traversed for several miles today. It is generally thought to be Roman in origin, although local superstition maintains that it was the work of a giant. The atmosphere of this landscape is extraordinarily bleak and atmospheric.
