“My first CoMA performance was life-changing.  Being accepted as a viable & important participant in spite of being an inexperienced player hugely increased my confidence, & the creativity has been a continuing influence on my life ever since.

– CoMA London member

CoMA hosts a national network of ensembles for community musicians, offering local opportunities throughout the UK to meet fellow music lovers, create new works with living composers and redefine your musical experiences. This opportunity is open to anyone 16+, and no audition is required.

Joining a CoMA ensemble provides you with a foundation to enhance your current musical skills, whilst also giving you a chance to try something new. Many CoMA members had their first experiences in writing their own music as part of joining an ensemble. Being part of an ensemble also opens up national and international opportunities to travel and take part in massed participation music days and international music festivals.

Our national network of local ensembles & their individual partnerships form a web of networks, bringing people together from all walks of life & contributing to a socially cohesive community. 65% of CoMA’s current members have been involved for 20+ years, testament to the impact of these ensembles on people’s lives, whilst each year 15% of the membership are new & engage with ensembles for 2-3 years on average.
