Never composed before? Apply for our ORDINARY OBJECTS callout

Our new professional development opportunity for female and gender-diverse creatives currently working outside of music.

We’re looking for three female or gender-diverse creatives who would like to expand their practice by composing for the first time!

For our new project ORDINARY OBJECTS: making music with everyday items, we’re offering a professional development opportunity for artists currently working in a field outside of music.

Selected artists will be challenged to compose a piece of music using the sounds of everyday materials, such as packaging, phones, recycling, stationery and fabric. This will then be workshopped, performed and recorded by community volunteers who similarly have little to no musical experience.

During the process, the artists will receive mentoring support from composer James Saunders and musician Sarah Nicolls, and an honorarium of £800 for participation, plus travel bursaries and accommodation.

To find out more, visit our ORDINARY OBJECTS callout page.
The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on Wednesday 10 June.

ORDINARY OBJECTS is generously funded by the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account at Bath Spa University.
