About the event
Join sound for a FREE rehearsal of accessible and fun contemporary pieces, alongside musicians from Any Enemy, Aberdeen’s new music ensemble.
We are excited to welcome instrumentalists (and non-instrumentalists!) of all ages. This session on March 15th will be a part of the Festival of Contemporary Music for All (CoMA).
Together we will be playing two pieces: In C by Terry Riley, and Eko Ilu by Irobosa Osagie, both of which will be shared at the end of the session.
In C by Terry Riley is suitable for instrumentalists on any instrument, playing at around a Grade 2 minimum standard.
Eko Ilu by Irobosa Osagie is suitable for all instrumentalists and non-instrumentalists. We would welcome those who are interested, but do not play an instrument, to join us from 2:30pm for Eko Ilu. Friends and family who may be dropping off participants for 1:30pm, and would like to participate in this piece, are welcome to wait in the King’s Pavilion.
The schedule is as follows:
1:30pm – 2:15pm – Rehearsal of In C by Terry Riley
2:30pm – 3:15pm – Rehearsal of Eko Ilu by Irobosa Osagie
3:30pm – 4pm – Performance of Get Creative Orchestra and Ensemble for family, friends and members of the public.
Venue: King’s Pavilion, University Road, University of Aberdeen AB24 3FX
Please bring your own instrument, if possible. We will have a number of keyboards and percussion available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will not be able to supply amps or leads.
