The Festival was a celebration for CoMA and our many partners of the joy of participating in contemporary music making. With events occurring throughout the UK and beyond, there were opportunities to premiere commissioned works alongside professional players and take part in a range of workshops and concerts. As a grass-roots expression of music making the Festival set out to empower musicians of all kinds to serve as catalyst and a challenge for what happens next in new music.
The Festival took place in 23 locations across the UK and Europe, involved over 60 partners and more than 70 new works were performed. Follow the links below to find out what happened in each location or watch recordings of performances here.
National partners included CoMA, Making Music, nonclassical and Sound and Music. The Festival is supported by funding from:
We are part of the Keychange initiative encouraging festivals and music organisations to achieve a 50:50 gender balance by 2022.
