LETHE film launch

July 24th and July 26th

South London Gallery Peckham London | showing from 6.45pm, doors at 6.00pm

Set on the beautiful island of Kythira and starring a glittering cast of ancient Greek deities, LETHE merges the worlds of film, experimental music, theatre and goats into a unique experience. This piece was structured as a set of theatre exercises that utilised Live Action Role-Playing (LARP)  to advance its narrative. The production employs a mix of traditional theatre techniques and  participation. The storyline of LETHE is inspired by the myth of the River Lethe. Which in ancient tales is an enabling device to step into a new state of being, as drinking the waters of LETHE caused extreme forgetfulness and symbolised rebirth. As participants navigate the story they transform into their characters, echoing the myth’s themes of memory loss and new beginnings.

Directed, conceptualised and composed by Lore Lixenberg, join us to celebrate this unique co-creation created over 2-years by Lore and CoMA participants, Sasha Owen & Chris Adams.
